Close Enough

Sgt. Bob Gibbs, 141st, and his squad were attacking a heavily defended enemy hill position. As he had expected, the Krauts laid down a curtain of mortar fire. What he did not expect was two shells that landed within 15 feet of him. Picking himself up from his prone position he continued the attack. Later he noticed four neat little holes in his combat pack.
