Six Billion Dollars Aint Hay!
GI Bill of Rights
Grants Servicemen Loans

It’s a wise guy that takes heed of these post-war plans and makes notes on his cuff.

Here—in a nutshell—is what you GIs may derive from the Six-billion dollar Bill of Rights, recently passed by the Houses of Congress.

1. A maximum of 52 weeks unemployment compensation at the rate of twenty-dollars a week.

2. Government guarantee of 50 per cent (not more than 2000 dollars) on loans for purchase of farm, small businesses and homes. These loans bear only 4 percent interest.

3. A maximum of 4 years educational aid for servicemen who joined the armed forces before they were 25 years old. 500 dollars yearly will be provided for tuition, plus subsistence allowance of 50 dollars a month for single, and 75 dollars a month for married veterans.

4. A veterans’ placement service to assist returning servicemen and women in obtaining civilian jobs through the United States Employment Service

5. Hospitalization, which is obtained through the Veterans’ Administration.
